Senior Accountant, External Financial Reporting
SkyWater is thrilled to partner with a leading Twin Cities based organization, to help them identify a Senior Accountant to join their financial reporting team. The Senior Accountant will be a trusted partner in shaping clear, accurate, and insightful financial reporting that supports decision-making at every level. In this position, you’ll drive month-end close, oversee reconciliations, strengthen controls, and deliver reports that stand up to the highest standards of compliance.

Responsibilities
- Complete month-end financial close activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, conducting analytical reviews, and performing research.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial close processes.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Assist in developing enhanced reporting and analysis to strengthen reconciliation and accounting activities.
- Prepare financial reports in compliance with GAAP and maintain well-documented audit trails.
- Create schedules and analysis packages to support financial statement reviews.
- Perform technical accounting research and assist with the adoption of new standards.
- Document and review process flows for key accounting transactions to assess financial impact.
- Monitor and execute internal controls, ensuring compliance with established policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors during interim and year-end audit activities.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and support special projects as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance required.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, including financial reporting, consolidations, technical accounting, and audit support.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated success working with diverse teams and building cross-functional relationships.
