Senior Payroll & Equity Specialist
SkyWater Search Partners is working with a long time small and growing life science client on a fully remote Senior Payroll & Equity Specialist position. We’re seeking an organized, proactive, and professional payroll expert to process multi-state and equity payments to employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide array of tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the smooth payroll operation. This role reports to the Accounting Manager and will be the sole payroll individual.
Responsibilities
- Process multi-state weekly and semi-monthly payroll
- Ensure accurate tax withholding and compliance including ensuring timely submission of federal, state, and local taxes.
- Review and confirm accuracy of quarterly and annual reports
- Assist with monthly employee accruals
- Process stock-based compensation transactions
- Review and process employee travel and other expense reimbursement requests
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and stock compensation, providing clear and accurate information
- Complete journal entries, along with month and year-end processes and reconciliations for payroll, equity, and employee expense reporting
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred, or at least 5 years of payroll and equity experience.
- Prior experience with ADP and Concur
- Experience working for a public company
- Knowledge of Microsoft product suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of general ledger software
- Ability to manage priorities, workflow, and communicate across the organization.
