Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Controls Engineer to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining control systems for our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge therapies and make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize control systems for manufacturing processes, including but not limited to bioreactors, purification systems, and filling equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, automation engineers, and quality assurance, to define control system requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead the implementation and commissioning of control systems, including programming PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues to minimize downtime and ensure production continuity.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of control systems.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for process validation activities, including writing and executing validation protocols.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and process optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in control system design, development, and implementation, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley), HMI development, and SCADA systems.
  • Strong understanding of control system hardware and software, including sensors, actuators, PID loops, and batch processing.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements, such as cGMP, FDA guidelines, and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
