Strategic Sourcing Specialist
SkyWater is excited to be partnering with a returning Durable Goods manufacturing client located here in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Our client is looking to add a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to their team! This person must have the ability to work cross-functionally and have the passion to work with highly customizable products. This role sits at the intersection of sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing strategy, with high visibility across Engineering, Operations, and Leadership.
Responsibilities
- Manage and plan the outsourcing of products to contract manufacturers
- Negotiating with suppliers and customers for prices, scheduling and delivery
- Identify and implement cost reductions
- Bring on new vendors and maintain relationships with current customers.
- Monitor inventory levels and lead times for delivery
- Drive sourcing strategies for contract manufacturing partners
- Analyze supplier costs and lead negotiations for savings
- Implement supplier scorecards (quality, delivery, cost)
- Support new product introductions with Engineering
- Provide limited purchasing coverage during peak periods
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Business Admin, Supply Chain Management or related field
- 3+ years of sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experienced working with contract manufacturers
- Prior knowledge of working in manufacturing. Metal fabrication preferred
- ERP experience, Epicor preferred.
- Self-Motivated with the ability to mentor a team.
