Tooling Engineer
SkyWater is partnering with an existing client in Minneapolis to find a Tooling Engineer for their growing team! This is a brand-new role created due to growth and customer demand for their products. The Tooling Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing tooling & fixtures to be used in their manufacturing processes. This person will update tooling & fixture designs, train operators & technicians on changes, and partner with internal engineering teams on engineering projects. Our client is a growing electronics manufacturer who partners with some of the most well-known aerospace & defense manufacturers in the industry. Responsibilities
- Design, modify, and implement tooling & fixtures for production.
- Train operators & technicians on tooling use and provide technical support.
- Look for manufacturing process improvements and cost-savings opportunities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams as needed (design, production, etc.).
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues as needed.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a tooling or fixture design role or similar engineering position.
- Experience working in a regulated industry or high precision manufacturing environment preferred (medical, aerospace/defense, etc.).
- Ability to prioritize work responsibilities and manage multiple tasks at a time.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal & written).
