Reporting to the COO, the VP of Supply Chain will lead a team of 20+ and is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s supply chain, including procurement, demand planning, inventory control, internal logistics, and supplier management. This individual ensures materials and products flow efficiently through the organization to support production, customer satisfaction, and financial objectives. The VP will lead cross-functional teams to drive excellence in safety, cost, quality, and delivery performance. This role ensures optimal supply chain performance, cost control, and on-time delivery across multiple product lines, facilities and business units.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement high-level strategies and objectives for the entire supply chain to align with the company's overall strategic objectives and organization goals.
  • Coordinate closely with Sales, Operations, and Engineering to align production plans with product development timelines and customer demand.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align purchasing and planning strategies with financial goals, sales forecasts, operational capacity, and future growth initiatives.
  • Ensures the supply chain effectively supports the manufacturing processes and sales demands. End-to-end perspective: Responsible for the entire flow of goods, from raw materials to finished products being shipped to customers. Demand and inventory planning: Strategic decisions on inventory levels and production schedules directly influence material needs across the production floor. Forecast demand to ensure that the right products are available at the right time, minimizing shortages and excess inventory. Procurement & Sourcing: Oversee the purchase of raw materials and finished goods, focusing on quality, cost, and timely delivery. Technology integration: Champions the use of technology to improve planning and purchasing. Responsible for having robust planning tools and ERP system to support real-time decision-making and create operational efficiency and clarity. Oversight and metrics: Accountable for key performance indicators (KPIs) related to materials and planning. Manage the financial aspects of the supply chain, including budgeting and controlling costs. Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity and resilience. Leadership:
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the supply chain team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on efficiency and innovation.
  • Lead a team of directors and managers responsible for manufacturing support, logistics, and procurement.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with various levels in the organization
  • Mentor future leaders to support company growth.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Engineering, or related field required; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, and/or production planning within manufacturing.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role (Director or VP level) in a mid-to-large manufacturing organization.
  • Experience managing supply chains supporting both standard and engineered-to-order (custom) products.
  • Proven track record of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost reduction at scale.
  • ERP expertise required.
