Associate Director of Advertising, Retail Media | Fully Remote

I’m excited to be leading the search for an Associate Director of Advertising, Retail Media with a growing retail media and ecommerce agency that helps brands navigate and win across today’s most competitive marketplaces.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who brings deep retail media expertise, enjoys the strategic side of the work, and still likes to stay close enough to execution to understand what is happening in the business. You’ll have the opportunity to lead strategy for a portfolio of brands, build trusted client relationships, mentor and develop team members, and help shape the continued growth of the advertising function.

The Opportunity

As the Associate Director of Advertising, Retail Media, you’ll lead the strategy, execution, and performance of retail media programs for a portfolio of brand partners.

This is a highly visible, strategic role, but it’s also one for someone who understands the importance of being hands-on. You’ll be responsible for developing integrated media strategies, overseeing campaign execution and optimization, managing budgets, analyzing performance, and turning complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for clients.

You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to your clients while also playing an important internal leadership role. You’ll mentor team members, help improve processes, and contribute to the continued growth and evolution of the agency’s retail media capabilities.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead retail media strategy across Amazon and other major retail media networks, including Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and beyond
  • Develop comprehensive media plans aligned with client objectives, budgets, and growth goals
  • Oversee campaign execution, optimization, pacing, and budget management
  • Analyze campaign data to identify trends, opportunities, and performance improvements
  • Translate complex performance data into clear, strategic recommendations for clients
  • Lead client conversations and serve as a strategic advisor as their retail media needs evolve
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure strong execution and continuous improvement
  • Mentor, coach, and develop members of the advertising team
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive greater operational efficiency
  • Stay ahead of retail media trends, platform developments, and emerging opportunities

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in retail media, ecommerce advertising, digital marketing, or performance marketing
  • Deep expertise with Amazon Ads
  • Experience across additional retail media platforms such as Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, Best Buy Ads, or other major retail media networks
  • Hands-on Pacvue experience is required, including campaign management, bid optimization, reporting, budget management, and performance analysis
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing team members
  • Strong client management and strategic consulting skills
  • Experience managing media budgets, forecasting performance, and optimizing media investments
  • A strong analytical mindset and the ability to turn data into meaningful business insights
  • Confidence presenting performance, strategy, and recommendations to senior and executive-level stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or a related field is preferred, although equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Experience on the agency side, brand side, or within a retail media organization would be especially relevant.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this role is $120,000–$140,000 annually, depending on experience.

The company also offers:

  • Healthcare benefits
  • 401(k) with company participation
  • Paid Time Off
  • Fully remote work
  • A flexible schedule that supports work-life balance
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities
  • A collaborative, entrepreneurial team environment
