The Senior Inventory Analyst will lead advanced inventory planning and optimization initiatives, with a focus on setting smart, data-driven targets, identifying and resolving inventory issues (including slow-moving and obsolete stock) and supporting decision-making through strong analytics and reporting. This role is critical to ensuring healthy inventory turns, operational efficiency, and working capital optimization.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and track dynamic inventory targets aligned with demand forecasts, business goals, and service-level expectations.
Proactively analyze inventory data to detect root causes of imbalances, overstocks, stockouts, or process gaps, and recommend actionable solutions.
Drive reduction of slow-moving and obsolete inventory through cross-functional initiatives such as reallocation, promotions, liquidation, or supply chain adjustments.
Leverage tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI) to perform deep-dive analyses, scenario modeling, and cost-benefit studies to support inventory strategies.
Build, maintain, and improve dashboards, KPI reports, and ad-hoc analyses to enable data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization.
Partner with Demand Planning, Procurement, Finance, Sales, and Operations teams to align inventory plans with business needs and market realities.
Lead or support projects to streamline inventory management processes, improve data quality, and enhance planning systems.
Ensure inventory policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements are met consistently across operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Analytics, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or certifications like APICS/CSCP a plus).
3–7 years of inventory analysis, supply chain planning, or related experience in manufacturing, distribution, or retail environments.
Proven experience addressing SLOB or excess/obsolete inventory challenges.
Advanced skills in Excel; proficiency in data analysis/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and ERP systems (SAP specifically).
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to communicate complex analyses clearly to stakeholders at all levels
