The Senior Corporate Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting financial leadership through reliable reporting, analysis, and process improvement. This position partners closely with finance leadership and operational teams to ensure financial integrity, support planning initiatives, and strengthen accounting operations across the organization.

This position offers hands-on exposure to core accounting and finance functions, including reporting, forecasting, cash management, and systems optimization. The role reports directly to the CFO and is designed with a clear progression to Accounting Manager.
 

Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly and annual close process, including preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and generating internal and external financial reports
  • Prepare financial statements, audit schedules, and tax-related workpapers in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with operational and accounting teams to perform variance analysis and explain financial results
  • Collaborate with department leaders to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts, monitoring performance against plan
  • Maintain and support general ledger and subledger activity, ensuring proper system setup and accurate transaction posting
  • Perform corporate bank and cash account reconciliations and assist with cash flow forecasting
  • Prepare and distribute recurring financial reports to department leaders and internal stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency
  • Record payroll-related journal entries, including intercompany allocations and third-party billings
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and support special projects as needed
  • Work independently while managing multiple priorities and meeting established deadlines
  • Interact regularly with finance leadership, cross-functional partners, and external advisors

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in corporate or public accounting environments
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
