SkyWater is partnering with a global manufacturer that has experienced double-digit growth over the past several years and continues to expand. This is a great opportunity to join a growing organization as a Plant Controller supporting one of their seven U.S. locations. In this role, you will lead on-site financial operations for the manufacturing facility and partner closely with corporate accounting and finance teams. The position is responsible for production and financial reporting, operational analysis, budgeting, and driving profitability and cost improvement initiatives, while serving as the primary finance partner to plant leadership. They are looking for a strong, engaging communicator who can act as the “mini CFO” of the facility.

This is an onsite role with some flexibility. Only local Minnesota candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

Ensure accurate collection and reporting of production data. Prepare standard production reports and ad hoc operational and financial analyses for plant leadership. Participate in plant leadership and cross-functional meetings as appropriate. Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial and accounting data. Review accounts payable invoices and accounts receivable transactions for accuracy and completeness. Lead the month-end and period-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and inventory tie-outs (raw materials, finished goods, and supplies). Analyze operating expense variances and communicate results and drivers to plant and finance leadership. Develop and maintain financial models and profitability analyses for capital expenditure projects. Track and report on continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives. Prepare financial justifications and business cases for capital and operational projects. Validate execution and savings calculations related to strategic sourcing initiatives. Support product downgrade and valuation processes, ensuring proper accounting treatment. Lead the plant’s annual budgeting process in partnership with plant operations leadership. Provide monthly and year-to-date financial results analysis and reporting. Provide financial analysis support.

Desired Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Minimum of five years of progressive business or finance experience required. At least three years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing finance practices preferred.
