We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop automated assembly and test systems used to manufacture high-performance electronic power control products. This role offers strong design ownership and the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle—from concept and fixture design to automation programming and manufacturing implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automated assembly and test fixtures for electronic power control products
  • Create mechanical designs for automation systems, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment
  • Develop and maintain automated test procedures and system documentation
  • Program and support automated test systems using LabVIEW and C#
  • Integrate test systems with SQL databases for data tracking and workflow management
  • Support automated optical inspection and vision system integration
  • Design components including plastic injection molded parts for production systems
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve product flow, efficiency, and output
  • Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Create assembly documentation including exploded views, wiring sketches, and procedures
  • Maintain engineering documentation, revisions, and change control

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • 4+ years of experience designing automated test or assembly systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience programming automated systems using LabVIEW
  • Experience programming with C#
  • Experience interfacing with SQL databases and performing queries
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product flow, and automation systems
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and high-volume production environments
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor
  • Experience with robotic automation systems (Preferred)
  • Exposure to automated optical inspection or machine vision systems (Preferred)
  • Experience designing fixtures and tooling for automated manufacturing lines (Preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced engineering environment
