Construction Project Controller
SkyWater is exclusively partnering with a leading construction and infrastructure company to find a full-time, onsite Project Controller based in the Twin Cities. Ideally, we are looking for candidates already local to Minnesota, but we are also open to candidates from outside the area who are motivated and ready to relocate.
In this role, you will be the key finance partner for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects. You will help project teams manage budgets, track cash flows, identify risks, and ensure accurate financial reporting. You will also mentor team members, improve processes, and play an important role in keeping projects running smoothly.
Responsibilities
Lead finance for high-value construction projects across multiple sites Review project and estimate cash flows, contract terms, and change orders to identify risks and opportunities Analyze and communicate financial results to project teams and executives Partner with project teams to make data-driven decisions that impact project outcomes Monitor project performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend solutions Drive process improvements and implement better ways of working
Desired Skills and Experience
5–10 years of construction accounting or project finance experience, ideally in construction companies or public accounting supporting construction clients Strong understanding of project accounting, cost tracking, and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities Experience reviewing contracts, budgets, change orders, and cash flows Experience leading or mentoring a small team Comfortable being on-site at projects in different conditions Must be able and willing to relocate to Minnesota if not already local
