Senior Mechanical Test Engineer
Skywater is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to design, configure, and optimize testing systems for complex drivetrain and powertrain components. This role focuses on hands-on mechanical testing, data analysis, and validation of product performance in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement testing strategies, sequences, and methodologies
- Configure and optimize dynamometer and end-of-line test systems
- Develop and execute validation tests for transmissions and related components
- Analyze test data to establish performance limits and identify issues
- Calibrate and maintain test equipment and systems
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional teams
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and applied physics
- Experience with mechanical testing, validation, or experimental engineering
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and test environments
- Ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable insights
