SkyWater is partnering with a well-known general contractor in the Chicago area to find an Assistant Project Manager for their growing team! Our client is a privately held GC with over 25 years of experience delivering a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects across the Midwest. This role will support project leadership while gaining hands-on exposure to the full project lifecycle. The Assistant Project Manager will assist with day-to-day project coordination, communication, scheduling, documentation, and financial tracking across multiple commercial construction projects. The APM will work closely with Project Managers, Project Stakeholders, and field teams throughout the project lifecycle. We’re looking for someone with around 1–3 years of construction, project engineering, or project management experience within a general contractor. Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily management and coordination of assigned commercial construction projects.
  • Support bid analysis and subcontractor selection for specific scopes of work under the direction of project leadership.
  • Manage project documentation, communication, and workflows.
  • Assist with reviewing and coordinating shop drawings against contract documents.
  • Assist with scheduling, cost tracking, and project financial documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of project management, project engineering, or construction administration/coordination experience.
  • Experience working in a general contracting or commercial construction setting.
  • Strong communication skills (both written & verbal).
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
