Safety Manager
.Plans and implements organization safety program to meet or exceed the needs of company Stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Plans and implements programs to train employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
- Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations
Desired Skills and Experience
- Relevant four-year college degree in construction management/occupational safety and specialized training or equivalent work experience in construction or engineering safety.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- OSHA10, HAZWOPER40, Excavation/Trenching Competent Person, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Drug & Alcohol for Supervisors.
- Must be able to travel daily to in state job sites and periodically out of state jobs.
