Platform Engineer
I’m partnered with a professional services client in the Twin Cities to bring on a Platform Engineer. I placed the hiring manager earlier this year and they are growing the team as they push from on-prem to the cloud. This role will be probably a 60/40 split initially DBA (SQL) vs Platform Eng work (Azure, IaC, CI/CD, Terraform etc.) and will continue to grow more focused on platform engineering with time.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building scalable platforms, automating everything possible, and driving modernization rather than simply maintaining existing systems.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Several year of platform engineering, database engineering, or infrastructure engineering experience
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and T-SQL expertise
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
- Automation and scripting skills with PowerShell and/or Python
- Experience supporting Azure infrastructure, networking, storage, identity, and cloud services
- Monitoring, observability, and operational excellence mindset (alerting, dashboards, runbooks)
- Experience modernizing legacy data platforms and supporting cloud migration initiatives
- Docker/containerization experience
- CI/CD and DevOps pipeline experience
