SkyWater is partnering with a leading manufacturer in the Detroit Lakes area to hire their Human Resources Manager. In this role, you’ll partner closely with business leaders to shape talent strategies, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and foster a high-performing, engaged workforce. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact by connecting people strategies to business results while supporting both hourly and salaried employees’ day-to-day HR needs.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a visible and influential HR leader, building strong relationships with leaders and employees while aligning people strategies to business objectives.
  • Serve as the primary employee relations expert for the site, proactively addressing workplace concerns, conducting investigations, resolving conflicts, and ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes.
  • Maintain a strong floor presence and approachable leadership style, fostering trust, engagement, and open communication across both hourly and salaried employee populations.
  • Coach and develop leaders on employee relations, performance management, accountability, talent development, and difficult workplace situations to strengthen leadership effectiveness and team performance.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, employment practices, and compliance matters while promoting consistency and sound decision-making throughout the organization.
  • Partner with business leaders to anticipate workforce needs, support recruiting efforts, and ensure a positive candidate and onboarding experience.
  • Drive key talent management processes, including performance reviews, succession planning, workforce planning, leadership development, and talent assessment initiatives.
  • Lead annual compensation planning and provide insights on market trends, pay practices, and workforce data to support competitive and equitable compensation decisions.
  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to successfully implement enterprise-wide initiatives, organizational changes, and employee-focused programs.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of two HR Generalists, creating a high-performing HR function that delivers exceptional support to leaders and employees while building future HR talent.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of HR leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Expertise across the HR function, including employee relations, leadership coaching, compensation, talent management and process improvement
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate and influence across all levels of the organization
  • Sound judgement and creative problem solving skills to address day-to-day HR needs
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field; SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred
