Controller
We are partnering with a utilities company in Rochester, MN to hire a Controller to lead a team across general accounting, billing, AP, and collections.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading a team and also enjoys diving into the details. The role will have a major impact with long term planning, job costing, regulatory compliance, and assist in large ERP transition.
There is a clear path to broader finance leadership as the organization continues to invest in its infrastructure and technology.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes and prepare financial statements
- Oversee GL, AP/AR, billing, collections, payroll, and fixed assets
- Administer the annual budget process and support multi-year financial forecasting
- Deliver financial analysis and reporting to executive leadership
- Coordinate year-end audit and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards
- Lead, develop, and mentor finance team across two supervisory groups
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with supervisory or management experience
- Experience in construction, manufacturing or utilities industry preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
