Construction Manager
SkyWater is partnering with a growing utility based in the Twin Cities to hire a Construction Manager for their growing team! Our client is a smaller, mission-driven utility that owns & operates the underground water distribution infrastructure serving St. Paul & Minneapolis. The Construction Manager will provide project management for new construction, repair, and upgrade projects across the distribution system, while also leading a group of trade workers. We’re looking for someone with several years of experience leading a team in utility environment (pipeline, water/sewer, electrical, etc.) and someone who enjoys working in a small company environment where they can make a big impact. Responsibilities
- Manage & oversee utility construction projects (new construction, repairs, and upgrades to existing systems).
- Provide field oversight to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate contractor work with city officials, subcontractors, and customers.
- Plan and coordinate system shutdowns, including customer service, plant operations, and staffing needs.
- Champion project safety, including contractor safety compliance and documentation on projects.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience leading a team in utility construction environment (pipeline, water/sewer, electrical, etc.).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings.
- Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal).
