Manufacturing Engineering Manager
A growing, PE-backed industrial equipment manufacturer in the north St Paul suburbs is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead its manufacturing engineering organization through a significant period of transformation and growth.
The business is approximately $50M today with plans to substantially scale the operation. This leader will manage a small team of Manufacturing Engineers and will be responsible for developing both the people and manufacturing systems required to support that growth.
The mandate includes manufacturing standardization, process improvement, Lean and continuous improvement, NPI, capital equipment, automation, plant flow, productivity, and technical team development.
The ideal candidate brings:
- A strong manufacturing engineering foundation and engineering degree
- Direct experience managing and developing engineers
- High-mix, low-volume or engineered-product manufacturing experience
- Measurable success improving throughput, productivity, cost, quality, or capacity
- Experience building processes, standards, and systems in an evolving environment
- Strong cross-functional leadership and the ability to influence without creating unnecessary friction
This is a hands-on leadership environment with significant executive visibility. The right person will be technically credible but equally capable of coaching a team, setting expectations, delegating effectively, and building scalable processes.
Compensation is $130K-$150K base plus a 15% annual bonus. The position is onsite in the Twin Cities.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an Engineering related field and 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering capacity
- 3+ years of direct management experience
