Civil Project Engineer
An established, growing engineering consulting firm in St. Paul is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to support an expanding portfolio of public infrastructure and municipal projects throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding region.
This role is geared toward a mid-career civil engineer who enjoys remaining technically involved while gaining exposure to multiple municipalities, project types and disciplines. Projects include deep sanitary sewer systems, rehabilitation and replacement of aging infrastructure, watermain and storm sewer improvements, roadway coordination, and extensive public and private utility coordination
The firm offers a hybrid schedule, strong long-term retention, employee ownership and a base salary of approximately $100,000–$140,000 depending on experience and licensure.
Responsibilities
- Design sanitary sewer, storm sewer, watermain and related municipal utility infrastructure
- Develop engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates and technical reports
- Support wastewater conveyance, sewer rehabilitation and utility-improvement projects
- Complete feasibility studies, technical analysis and hydraulic modeling as applicable
- Coordinate with municipalities, permitting agencies, contractors and project stakeholders
- Provide construction-phase engineering support and administration
- Contribute across multiple municipal infrastructure projects and public-sector clients
Desired Skills and Experience
- BS in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering discipline
- 4+ years of relevant civil or municipal engineering experience
- EIT certification required; PE licensure strongly preferred
- Hands-on municipal engineering design experience involving utility, underground infrastructure, or waste water design experience
- Strong communication, problem-solving, initiative, and ability to manage assigned work against project schedules
