Controller
Are you an experienced public accountant who is ready to make the jump to industry, but wants to move directly into an operational accounting leadership role?
We are partnering with a fast-growing financial services company in the west metro to hire a Controller to lead its management company accounting function. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Manager, Senior Manager or Director to transition directly from public accounting into a broad leadership role with ownership over the accounting function.
The Controller will serve as the face of the management company accounting function, with significant exposure across the organization and partnership with teams including Tax, Risk and Compliance.
Responsibilities:

Lead the management company accounting function

Oversee month-end close and financial reporting across multiple entities

Manage consolidations and intercompany accounting

Provide guidance around technical accounting matters and accounting policies

Maintain and enhance internal controls

Partner with external auditors
-
Drive process improvements and automation
-
Partner cross-functionally with teams throughout the organization

Provide some crossover support to the fund accounting function

Lead, coach and develop a team of 3–4
Qualifications:
-
10+ years of progressive accounting experience
-
Active CPA
-
Public accounting experience strongly preferred
-
Financial services experience (alternative investments) required
-
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
-
Experience working with complex and/or multi-entity organizations
-
Strong communication skills and executive presence
-
Genuine interest in management company accounting and broader operational accounting leadership
