SkyWater is partnering with a growing engineering firm who’s looking to hire a Site Manager to lead their field operations! In this role, you’ll provide strategic leadership and hands-on oversight of the fabrication, assembly, delivery, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electromechanical equipment for custom, one-of-a-kind projects. Our client is a fast-growing small business that has built a strong reputation for engineering excellence, designing custom mechanization solutions for iconic structures across industries like aerospace, entertainment, observatories, etc. This role can be based anywhere in the United States but comes with significant travel to job sites across the US (up to 90%).They’re offering a competitive base salary, excellent benefits, and a collaborative culture where your work truly makes an impact on their growing business! 

Responsibilities

  • Lead shop and field operations involving fabrication, assembly, delivery, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electromechanical equipment.
  • Plan and manage staffing, resources, schedules, budgets, and project timelines to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, local unions, vendors, customers, and corporate leadership.
  • Set up and manage shop, warehouse, and field offices, including weekly work schedules and day-to-day site operations.
  • Oversee fabrication and assembly processes, workmanship, quality assurance, and compliance with drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Manage job site deliveries, material receiving, inventory, storage, and shipment of parts, tools, equipment, & components.
  • Communicate project status, field conditions, schedules, and cost-related matters to project stakeholders & corporate teams.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce compliance with OSHA safety requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, installation/assembly processes, and quality/cost control.
  • Travel to job sites for extended periods as needed (up to 90%).

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • 10+ years of field construction experience, including significant experience in a supervisory or people leadership role.
  • Working knowledge of software applications used for design, modeling, project scheduling, budgeting, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work responsibilities and meet project deadlines.
  • OSHA 30 certification a plus.
  • Ability to travel extensively to job sites across the US (up to 90%).
