Senior Software Engineer
A Twin Cities medical technology company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a team developing sophisticated software used in advanced medical procedures.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building and debugging complex systems while also taking ownership of software requirements, design documentation, testing, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, and support software features across complex integrated systems
- Translate technical requirements into clear, testable software requirements
- Create and maintain software design and architecture documentation
- Support verification, traceability, and risk-management activities
- Partner with QA and engineering teams to support product releases
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and complex troubleshooting
- Help improve software development and documentation processes
- Mentor engineers on requirements, traceability, and compliant development practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience in a regulated environment, ideally medical devices
- Strong experience with C#, Python
- Experience with complex, integrated software/hardware systems
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear documentation
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred: Experience with IEC 62304, ISO 14971, requirements traceability, SDS/SAD, FMEA, DVT, verification/validation, or regulatory audits.
