Accounting Manager
SkyWater Search Partners is partnering with a large, well-established construction organization on an Accounting Manager search. The company is in a strong position, with a healthy backlog, several significant projects underway and continued growth expected across multiple construction verticals. Local Twin Cities metro candidates will only be considered, and onsite presence 4 days per week is required.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more than just a traditional Accounting Manager role. You’ll have ownership across core accounting operations, financial reporting and close while leading and developing a team. You’ll also work closely with project accounting, payroll and FP&A and have the opportunity to take on broader responsibility as the finance organization continues to evolve.
Responsibilities
Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close and financial reporting Oversee key accounting functions, including GL, AP, AR and fixed assets Support job cost accounting, WIP reporting and revenue recognition Lead, coach and develop an experienced accounting team Partner across project accounting, payroll, FP&A and other areas of the business Strengthen accounting processes, controls and reporting Identify opportunities for automation, standardization and greater efficiency Take ownership of issues, think through solutions and help drive improvements across the department
Desired Skills and Experience
7+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior people leadership experience Construction experience through either direct accounting experience within the construction industry or public accounting audit experience with a strong construction client focus Strong technical accounting foundation and understanding of the construction environment CPA preferred, but not required Hands-on, self-directed leader who takes initiative and brings solutions, not just problems Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across the organization and lead an experienced team
