Safety Manager
SkyWater is partnering with a growing engineering firm to hire a Safety Manager who will oversee their Texas region! This person will be the go-to safety leader for multiple offices across the state, while being based out of their Dallas-Fort Worth office. It’s a high visibility and autonomy position where you’ll coach field employees on safety procedures, partner with senior leadership on strategic safety initiatives, lead incident investigations, implement corrective actions and shape how safety initiatives are implemented across the Texas region. Our client’s crews are spread across many project sites, so this role suits someone who enjoys being out in the field and building relationships in a field setting. We’re looking for a safety professional with 3-5 years of construction or field safety experience and someone who can influence every level of an organization (field employees, executive leaders, etc.). Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary safety resource for offices and field teams across Texas.
- Coach field leaders on job planning, hazard identification, and how to prevent serious injuries.
- Help teams identify critical hazards and implement key safeguards before work begins.
- Perform field observations and audits of offices, project sites, and crews.
- Support incident and near-miss investigations, helping site leaders identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Champion driving and fleet safety, including journey planning and vehicle safety expectations.
- Roll out company-wide safety initiatives across the Texas region. Spot regional trends and bring leadership together to develop solutions when needed.
- Deliver field safety training and PPE assessments, and track regional safety data & KPIs.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety or a related field.
- 3-5 years of safety experience in a construction, engineering services or a related field (or combination of relevant industries).
- CSP or ability to obtain a BCSP-recognized certification within 12 months of hire preferred.
- Ability to build relationships with field employees and work closely with senior leadership required.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout Texas (up to 60% in the field with some overnight travel as well).
- Valid driver's license and an excellent driving record.
