Accounting Manager
SkyWater is thrilled to be partnering with a $500M+ food manufacturer in the southwest metro (owned by a large publicly traded parent) to add an Accounting Manager to their team!
We placed the last person in this seat and she just moved up into finance – so the path is REAL. This company is investing heavily in technology (automation, AI tools, the works!) and this role gets to lead the charge, moving the team from transactional accounting to exception-based review and GL automation. You’d get big-company controls exposure without the big-company bureaucracy.
For this role, we need –
• Someone who wants to lead people AND enjoys it – you’ll have a team of six
• A track record of improving a process through technology (automation, systems, reporting)
• Comfortable in the office three days a week (with flexible core hours)
Public accounting roots are a big plus, and newly promoted audit managers looking to make the jump to industry are welcome!

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the accounting operations team, including AP, AR and collections, grain accounting, and the Senior Accountant
- Drive technology-enabled process improvement, moving routine review to an exception-based model
- Lead GL automation, including recurring journal entries, automated reconciliation matching, and eliminating manual spreadsheet handoffs
- Expand the use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI to replace manual reporting with self-service dashboards
- Manage the month-end close, including journal entry review, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting packages
- Enhance internal controls and partner with internal and external auditors
- Support tax filings and annual insurance renewals
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leading or mentoring others
- Public accounting experience and/ or CPA preferred
- Agriculture, food, or manufacturing experience preferred
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI experience a plus
- Passionate about building better processes and growing as an accounting leader
