2nd Shift Production Supervisor
A manufacturing and converting shop in Chicago is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead its second-shift operation. This individual will oversee approximately 12 employees and play a central role in strengthening daily execution, accountability and continuous improvement across a lean manufacturing environment.
The opportunity is well suited to a floor-oriented leader who enjoys solving problems directly rather than managing from an office.
Compensation is $65,000-$75,000.
2nd Shift 2pm-10pm Monday-Friday
Responsibilities
- Lead daily second-shift production with responsibility for safety, quality, delivery and productivity.
- Monitor output against schedule and adjust labor and priorities as conditions change.
- Coach employees, manage attendance and performance, and reinforce accountability.
- Maintain a consistent floor presence and ensure adherence to standard work.
- Coordinate production issues with maintenance, quality, scheduling and plant leadership.
- Lead root-cause problem solving, waste reduction and continuous-improvement activity.
- Improve shift handoffs, reporting, training, documentation and operating routines.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of manufacturing or operations experience with demonstrated supervisory background.
- Prior supervisory, team-lead or comparable front-line leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to coach hourly employees and address performance issues.
- Strong communication, follow-through and basic computer/administrative proficiency.
- Union experience is beneficial,
- Bilingual English/Spanish is advantageous.
