Assistant Controller

This Assistant Controller will help lead day-to-day accounting operations and support the continued development of the accounting team.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys operational accounting, people leadership, and process improvement. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and play a key role in managing the close process, financial reporting, and team development.
The Controller’s goal is to develop this individual into a future Controller within the next couple of years, making this an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their leadership career.

Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations
- Manage and support the month-end close process
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and variance analysis
- Lead and develop members of the accounting team
- Support entity consolidations and account reconciliations
- Assist with cash forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes
- Support the annual audit process with external auditors
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience leading or mentoring accounting staff
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills
- CPA or public accounting experience a plus but not required
- Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems preferred
