Controller
I’m partnering with a well-established, growth-oriented real estate investment and operating organization is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead corporate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management functions. This position partners closely with executive leadership and plays a key role in driving financial accuracy, process improvement, and operational efficiency across a multi-entity environment.

Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations,
- Manage cash flow, treasury activities, and financial reporting
- Support payroll processing and related accounting processes
- Lead commission accounting, reconciliations, and reporting
- Oversee corporate credit card programs and spending controls
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
- Produce accurate monthly financial statements and supporting analysis
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Partner with leadership on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation with external partners
- Support internal controls and continuously improve processes Leadership & Team Management
- Provide direction, coaching, and support to accounting staff
- Monitor team performance and conduct performance reviews
- Recommend staffing and compensation adjustments as needed
- Foster collaboration across departments
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
- Strong background in general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting
- Experience in a multi-entity environment preferred
- Industry experience within real estate, construction, or investment services
- Prior supervisory experience required
- CPA or similar certification preferred
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Yardi or similar platforms a plus)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis
- Ability to translate data into meaningful insights for leadership
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and shifting timelines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Collaborative mindset with a hands-on leadership style
