We are partnering with a large municipal utility in Rochester, MN to hire a Controller to lead a 14-person finance team across general accounting, billing, AP, and collections.
This is a great fit for an experienced accounting leader who enjoys leading a team and diving into the details. The role will be a part of long range financial planning, job costing, regulatory compliance, and assist in a active ERP transition. A clear path to broader finance leadership as the organization continues to invest in its infrastructure and technology.

Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarterly, and year-end close and prepare financial statements
- Oversee GL, AP/AR, billing, collections, payroll, and fixed assets
- Administer the annual budget process and support multi-year financial forecasting
- Deliver financial analysis and reporting to executive leadership
- Coordinate year-end audit
- Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
- 8+ years of experience with supervisory or management experience
- Experience in construction, government, public accounting or utilities preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
