Director of IT (Minnesota-based)

SkyWater has partnered with a national manufacturer headquartered in the Twin Cities, and growing through ongoing acquisition. This role owns infrastructure and support for the organization, reporting directly to the VP of IT and leading a team across network, server, and helpdesk functions. The company has roughly tripled in size over the past several years and continues to acquire, which means the infrastructure function is under real pressure to mature. This is a build-and-mature role, not a maintenance seat, and it comes with direct access to the VP of IT and executive leadership, along with real budget and technical ownership.

Location is the Twin Cities, with an onsite expectation of 3 to 5 days a week depending on team needs. Compensation is competitive with base and bonus, commensurate with experience.

To be considered, reach out directly to Zac Kallas at SkyWater Search Partners.

Responsibilities

- Own infrastructure architecture and roadmap across systems, storage, network, and hosting, including cloud - Lead a full network overhaul, including an active vendor transition, planned for next year - Drive the cloud versus on-premise decision for the environment - Integrate Microsoft 365 and AI tooling across the organization, and push adoption within the team - Build out proper metrics, reporting, and automation around the IT service management platform - Manage the infrastructure and operations budget - Lead and develop a team across network, server, and helpdesk functions - Coordinate with a separate cybersecurity function on policy and procedure - Represent infrastructure strategy and status directly to senior leadership

Desired Skills and Experience

- Bachelor's degree + 10 years of professional experience - Infrastructure leadership experience gained at real enterprise scale, not just theory - Deep, hands-on Microsoft environment experience - Working familiarity with an enterprise ERP environment - Track record operating both hands-on with a technical team and in front of senior leadership and executive stakeholders - Manufacturing or another process-heavy, downtime-sensitive industry background is a plus, not required - Comfortable in a lean, still-scaling organization rather than one with an established management hierarchy
