Director of Safety
SkyWater is partnering with a long-standing client in Southern Minnesota to find a Director of Safety for their team! Our client is a quickly growing, privately-held business with a sizeable network of operations across the Upper Midwest. They’re an industry leader in the ag space and they’re looking for someone who can help elevate the strategic direction of the safety department. The Director of Safety will be responsible for overseeing the safety function while also developing & implementing strategic safety programs, leading incident investigations & implementing corrective actions, and instilling a strong safety culture across the organization. We’re looking for someone with around 10+ years of EHS or Safety leadership experience, experience leading safety programs across multiple sites, and someone with experience developing & implementing strategic safety initiatives. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs, policies, & procedures to ensure a safe work environment across multiple facilities.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards & risks.
- Develop & conduct training programs on safety procedures, equipment usage, and emergency protocols.
- Stay updated and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents or near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and company leadership to address safety concerns & implement improvements.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in EHS or Safety positions with proven experience developing & implementing safety initiatives.
- Experience overseeing multiple sites and leading team members preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence & engage stakeholders.
- Experience working in a manufacturing setting (food/beverage, agriculture, industrial manufacturing, etc.).
