Engineering Manager
Skywater is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead capital project execution and engineering initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites. This role combines team leadership, hands-on project involvement, and cross-site coordination, with a strong focus on project delivery, process safety, and engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of 4 engineers, providing coaching, direction, and performance management
- Oversee a portfolio of capital projects ($1M–$10M), ensuring on-time and on-budget execution
- Provide technical oversight and guidance on project design, execution, and commissioning
- Support plant operations through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process improvements
- Drive consistency in engineering standards and best practices across multiple sites
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, EHS, and external vendors
- Support and reinforce PSM systems, including participation in PHAs and MOC processes
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field
- 10–15+ years of experience in chemical or batch manufacturing environments
- Proven experience managing engineers (direct people leadership required)
- Demonstrated capital project experience ($1M–$7M range)
- Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and processes
