Engineering Manager
SkyWater is partnering with a small, privately held manufacturing company in the Northwest Metro that’s looking to hire an Engineering Manager for their growing team! Our client is a well-established metal fabrication business that has recently been backed by an investment group and is preparing for significant growth over the next several years. This is a newly created role driven by that growth, and this individual will play a key role in building out engineering processes, leading technical teams, and helping scale operations. The Engineering Manager will oversee the engineering, tooling, and maintenance functions while leading new product launches, capital equipment improvements, and process improvements on the floor. We’re looking for a hands-on engineering leader with a strong manufacturing background (ideally within metal fabrication or a similar environment), experience leading engineering projects, and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams (operations, leadership and sales groups). Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the engineering function, including oversight of tool room, maintenance, and technical staff.
- Manage engineering projects including new product launches, process improvements, and capital equipment projects.
- Design and oversee tooling and fixture development to ensure product quality and manufacturability.
- Partner with Sales and Operations to support quoting, routing, and production planning for new business.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.
- Support equipment installation & integration, including layout, utilities, and startup.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related field) preferred (Associate's Degree required).
- 5+ years of engineering or manufacturing experience within metal fabrication or a similar environment.
- Prior team leadership experience preferred (direct or indirect).
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Experience with tooling, fixture design, and/or prototype development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
