Estimating Leader- Heavy Highway
The Estimating Manager leads and oversees the process of creating cost estimates for projects, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and efficiency. They are responsible for developing and implementing estimating standards, procedures, and methodologies, as well as managing a team of estimators. They are accountable for estimating success and building and maintaining a consistent backlog.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and hold all team members accountable.
- Oversee all aspects of pre-construction and manage company estimating activities.
- Prepare estimates using B2W Enterprise Edition estimating software, company’s cost history and own experience through review of plans and specifications, quantity takeoff, crew selection/productivity, vendor and subcontractor quote management and company guidelines for overhead and margin.
- Assist with project change orders, extra work claims, supplemental agreements, and value engineering concepts.
Desired Skills and Experience
- BS degree in Construction Management, or equivalent
- Good PC skills--proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Blue Beam and all B2W software programs
- 10+ years of Highway Heavy estimating experience
- Thorough knowledge of standard construction industry contracting, purchasing, engineering, and controls procedures.
