Estimator
SkyWater is partnering with one of the country’s leading mechanical contractors who’s looking for an Estimator to join their growing office in Southern Minnesota! This company is privately held, has been in business for over 75 years, operates out of 20 regional offices across the US, and has been recognized as a Top Workplace multiple years running. The Rochester MN office is experiencing significant growth driven by large-scale commercial construction projects in the region, and they need an experienced Estimator who can own the estimating process for large, complex mechanical projects. The Estimator will mainly be working on projects within healthcare, medical, data centers, etc. and will focus on projects around the Southern Minnesota region. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical construction projects including takeoffs, material & labor analysis, and scope review.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documentation to develop accurate & complete estimates.
- Obtain quotes from subcontractors and vendors in accordance with project scope and specifications.
- Set up and maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in developing proposals for current and prospective customers.
- Organize and maintain estimate documentation and backup files.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma required (Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred)
- 2+ years of estimating experience in mechanical construction (plumbing, piping, or HVAC).
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to read & interpret construction drawings & specifications.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
