EXPERIENTIAL DESIGNER

We are partnering with a well-known Brand Experience agency that brings brands to life through memorable, immersive experiences. They’re looking for an Experiential Designer to join their creative team and help turn big ideas into thoughtful, engaging experiences across live events, physical spaces, digital environments, and visual communications.

From concept through final execution, the Experiential Designer helps shape the creative vision for experiential marketing programs, brand activations, events, campaigns and other high-impact brand experiences. This role reports to the agency’s Executive Creative Director.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is a multidisciplinary designer who understands how design can shape the way people experience a brand. They have a strong foundation in visual communication and experience designing for physical spaces, live events, environmental graphics, digital experiences and print.

They are curious, conceptual and comfortable moving between big-picture creative thinking and detailed execution. They can translate a brand strategy into a compelling experience, communicate ideas clearly, and collaborate effectively with producers, strategists, account leaders and other creatives in a fast-paced agency environment.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

A. Creative & Design

  • Lead and/or contribute to creative ideation for experiential marketing, live events, brand activations and integrated campaigns.
  • Develop creative concepts and design solutions that bring brand strategies to life across physical and digital environments.
  • Create design systems and visual storytelling for environments, installations, event spaces, signage, displays, presentations, social content and other experiential touchpoints.
  • Think holistically about the audience journey, considering how people see, interact with and experience a brand.
  • Develop creative from initial concept through production, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail throughout.
  • Translate client brand guidelines into engaging experiential applications while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Prepare and present creative concepts and design rationale for internal and client review.
  • Provide creative guidance and mentorship to junior designers as needed.
  • Partner with producers, project managers, strategists and account teams to ensure creative solutions align with scope, budget, timing and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and production partners to ensure creative intent is carried through to final execution.

B. Collaboration & Communication

  • Actively participate in brainstorming and creative development, bringing fresh ideas and thoughtful solutions to the team.
  • Clearly communicate design concepts, creative rationale and production considerations to internal teams and clients.
  • Build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams, including Creative, Production, Strategy, Account Management and Project Management.
  • Remain open to feedback and confidently contribute to collaborative creative discussions.
  • Anticipate challenges and communicate timeline, scope or production concerns before they become issues.
  • Balance creative ambition with practical considerations, finding solutions that work within real-world parameters.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong visual design, conceptual thinking and brand storytelling skills.
  • Experience designing for live events, physical spaces and/or experiential marketing.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Understanding of environmental, spatial and/or experiential design principles.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions that support brand strategy and business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of how audiences engage with brands in physical and live environments.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration and presentation skills.
  • Ability to articulate creative concepts and design rationale.
  • Strong creative problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines while remaining flexible and solutions-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing meaningfully to a multidisciplinary creative team.
  • Strong internal and external customer service skills.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

  • 4–7+ years of experience in experiential design, graphic design, environmental design, brand design, advertising, events or a related creative discipline.
  • Agency experience preferred, though strong in-house or independent experience will be considered.
  • B.A. or B.F.A. in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Environmental Design, Architecture, Studio Art, Advertising or a related field preferred.

LOCATION / TIME ZONE

  • Fully remote position from current state of residence.
  • Must work 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. CST.
  • Flexibility to accommodate agency hours, including occasional work beyond standard hours, weekends and schedule adjustments as needed.
  • Travel may be required on a program-by-program basis.

COMPENSATION

  • Full-time position with employee benefits.
  • Salary commensurate with experience, target salary range: $65,000-$95,000
