SkyWater is partnering with an existing client to find a Food Safety & Quality Manager for their team! Our client is a well-known Minnesota food brand with a strong customer following. They’ve been consistently growing over the last few years (around 15%) and are looking for a Food Safety & Quality Manager to lead the FSQ function of their business. The Food Safety & Quality Manager will oversee the day-to-day food safety and quality activities at the production site, while ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal standards. This role partners closely with operations to identify risks, initiate corrective actions, and continuously improve food safety & quality systems. It’s a direct-hire/permanent role with a growing Minnesota business who’s looking for someone with aspirations to grow into a director level role in the future. Responsibilities

  • Conduct line audits and GMP inspections to verify proper ingredient use and procedural compliance.
  • Lead and manage CAPA activities, including root cause analysis.
  • Deliver ongoing food safety and GMP training across production teams.
  • Manage product specifications and labeling compliance.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality and food safety concerns.
  • Lead internal audits and external supplier audits as needed.
  • Other projects or responsibilities as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Food Safety & Food Quality roles (or combination of similar roles).
  • Experience working in a food production or similar regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of GMPs, audits, regulatory requirements, and food safety systems.
  • HACCP and/or PCQI certifications preferred.
  • Experience leading team members preferred (either directly or indirectly).
