Food Safety & Quality Manager
SkyWater is partnering with an existing client in Central Minnesota on a Food Safety & Quality Manager search! Our client is a small food manufacturer who’s been consistently growing over the last few years (around 15%). The Food Safety & Quality Manager will oversee the day-to-day food safety and quality activities within the production facility, while ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, & internal standards. This role partners closely with operations to identify risks, initiate corrective actions, and continuously improve food safety & quality systems. It’s a permanent/direct hire opportunity with a well-known Minnesota brand who’s looking for a strong FSQ Manager with aspirations to grow into a director level role in the near future. Responsibilities
- Conduct line audits and GMP inspections to verify proper ingredient use and procedural compliance.
- Lead and manage CAPA activities, including root cause analysis.
- Deliver ongoing food safety and GMP training across production teams.
- Manage product specifications and labeling compliance.
- Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality and food safety concerns.
- Lead internal audits and external supplier audits as needed.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Food Safety & Food Quality roles (or combination of roles).
- Experience working in a food production or similar regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of GMPs, audits, regulatory requirements, and food safety systems.
- HACCP and/or PCQI certifications preferred.
