Our client is seeking a Director of Supply Chain to lead procurement, sourcing strategy, supplier management, inventory planning, and overall supply chain performance. This role is heavily focused on procurement leadership and building a more strategic sourcing function to support continued growth.
This individual will partner closely with operations, finance, manufacturing, and executive leadership to drive cost savings, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and inventory optimization while ensuring uninterrupted supply to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all procurement and sourcing activities across direct and indirect spend categories.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that improve cost, quality, service, and supplier reliability.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and long-term supplier partnerships.
- Build stronger supplier accountability through performance metrics, scorecards, and regular business reviews.
- Identify opportunities to reduce material costs, improve inventory turns, and strengthen working capital performance.
- Partner with operations and production leadership to align purchasing activities with customer demand and manufacturing requirements.
- Evaluate supplier risk and develop contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply.
- Lead inventory planning efforts and work cross-functionally to balance service levels with inventory investment.
- Develop and mentor a small supply chain team while helping establish scalable processes and reporting.
Ideal Background
- 10+ years of progressive supply chain, procurement, or sourcing leadership experience.
- Experience leading procurement within a food, beverage, ingredient, consumer products, packaging, or manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record negotiating meaningful supplier agreements and delivering measurable cost savings.
- Strong understanding of supplier management, inventory planning, forecasting, and S&OP processes.
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment where strategic thinking and tactical execution are equally important.
- Experience building processes, KPIs, and accountability structures within a growing organization.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand margin impact, working capital, and inventory performance.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
