Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Tampa, Florida. As a Principal Design Engineer, you will play a key role in leading the design and development of our next-generation industrial equipment, with a focus on the construction equipment industry or similar. This is a unique opportunity for a talented engineer to contribute to groundbreaking projects and shape the future of our organization.


  1. Lead Design Initiatives: Take ownership of the entire design process, from concept to production, ensuring alignment with project goals and specifications.
  2. Innovative Problem Solving: Utilize your engineering expertise to solve complex design challenges, incorporating innovative solutions to enhance product performance.
  3. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of design elements into the overall product.
  4. Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the creation of prototypes, conduct rigorous testing, and iterate designs based on performance evaluations.
  5. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
  6. Documentation: Create comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test plans, to support the manufacturing and quality control processes.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in design processes.


  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  2. Proven experience as a Design Engineer, with a focus on industrial equipment, preferably in the construction equipment industry or a related field.
  3. Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and simulation tools.
  4. In-depth knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and design principles.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  6. Leadership experience with a track record of successfully leading design projects.
  7. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
