This position is responsible for the design, development, integration, and validation of mechanical components and systems to meet established performance, quality, and reliability requirements. The role develops and maintains accurate 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models to support both design and manufacturing processes. Working cross-functionally with Sales, Quality, Application Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and CNC Programming, this position ensures designs are functional, manufacturable, and cost-effective. The role also determines appropriate materials, fits, tolerances, and other design specifications based on product requirements and intended applications.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design, design updates, and design drawing releases on projects.
  • Interface with Production and Tooling, Sales, and Quality departments in cooperative, professional, and helpful manner
  • Responsible for establishing testing requirements for designs and updates. Must perform or support testing as required.
  • Ensure that designs meet function, safety, and quality requirements before releasing for use

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Required: Proficiency in at least one 3D CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, PowerShape, Fusion 360) for creating detailed, production-ready models and drawings.
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, CNC, and conventional machining practices a plus
  • Excellent visual perception to ensure fine detail quality inspection
  • Firearm design experience
