Operations Manager

An established manufacturer of aluminum castings, machined components, and engineered plastic products is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a critical production department through its next phase of operational transformation.
This is an opportunity to influence production performance, strengthen frontline leadership, and implement sustainable improvements in a complex manufacturing environment. With a significant capital investment program underway, the incoming leader will help modernize operations, improve equipment reliability, and build a stronger continuous improvement culture.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily manufacturing operations, production scheduling, maintenance coordination, and workforce planning.
- Improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and operating costs through measurable KPIs.
- Implement Lean manufacturing, 5S, visual management, root-cause analysis, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Develop supervisors and production employees while strengthening accountability across multiple shifts.
- Identify bottlenecks, reduce scrap and downtime, and improve production flow.
- Partner with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to drive sustainable results.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A bachelor's degree is preferred. Aluminum casting, foundry operations, Lean/Six Sigma, and machining experience are advantageous.
- 5+ years of Manufacturing operations leadership experience in a production environment.
- A track record of leading meaningful continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing production teams, operational metrics, and equipment reliability.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills
