Plant Manager
Skywater is seeking a Plant Manager to lead a single-site plastics processing facility. This role is responsible for driving operational consistency, building team accountability, and leading a group of functional managers across production, maintenance, and warehouse functions. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who can step into a developing environment and create structure, accountability, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of department managers across production, maintenance, warehouse, and lab
- Drive operational consistency and align plant performance with company standards
- Rebuild and reinforce a culture of accountability, communication, and execution
- Oversee daily plant operations, including production output, staffing, and resource allocation
- Make real-time decisions on staffing, vendors, and operational priorities
- Ensure product quality meets customer expectations, particularly for rotational molding applications
- Partner with executive leadership to implement improvements and long-term operational strategy
Desired Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, ideally managing managers or multiple functions
- Background in plastics or general manufacturing and industrial operations
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change or operational improvement
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to act independently and drive outcomes
- Working knowledge of plant operations, including production, maintenance, and basic financial metrics
