We are seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations within a fast-paced food production environment. This role is responsible for driving operational performance, ensuring product quality and safety, and leading a team to meet production targets. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in food manufacturing, a continuous improvement mindset, and proven leadership experience in a multi-shift operation.
 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day production operations across multiple shifts to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency targets are met
  • Supervise, coach, and develop front-line leaders and production employees, building a strong culture of accountability and engagement
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including throughput, yield, downtime, and labor efficiency; drive corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., HACCP, GMPs, SQF)
  • Partner cross-functionally with maintenance, quality, supply chain, and logistics teams to optimize plant performance
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve processes, and increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Manage production scheduling and staffing to meet customer demand and production goals
  • Support budgeting and cost control efforts, including labor and material usage
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts related to production issues, quality concerns, and safety incidents

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a production leadership role within food or beverage manufacturing
  • Proven experience leading teams in a high-volume, multi-shift environment
  • Strong understanding of food safety and quality systems (HACCP, GMP, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
