Senior Accountant
We are partnering with a PE-backed construction services company in Willmar, MN to find their first dedicated accounting hire. The business is highly profitable, growing fast, and in the early stages of building out its finance function. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and serve as the on-site financial resource for the team
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and P&L reports
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger (cash, AR, inventory, fixed assets, AP, accrued liabilities)
- Month-end and year-end close
- Ensure timely billing and proper revenue recognition across the business
- Oversee and coordinate biweekly payroll, including prevailing wage compliance for applicable jobs
- Support the first external audit — help with documentation, inventory valuation, and coordination with auditors
- Identify and recommend process improvements as the back-office infrastructure is modernized
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally from a CPA firm, construction or manufacturing environment
