Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS / GCP)
We are partnered with a longtime financial services client to bring on a Senior Cloud Engineer. In this hire they are seeking a true “A” player to help modernize and scale a next-generation enterprise data platform. This role is focused on cloud infrastructure engineering, automation, platform reliability, and building scalable infrastructure patterns in a highly collaborative environment.
This is not a traditional DevOps / DBA role. The ideal candidate will bring deep cloud and infrastructure engineering experience, strong automation skills, and the ability to operate across modern platforms, DevOps, and data infrastructure initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and automate scalable cloud infrastructure environments
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform
- Partner with engineering and data teams to support modern data platform initiatives
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, observability, and platform reliability practices
- Support cloud-native operational tooling and automation strategies
- Help establish scalable engineering standards, patterns, and best practices
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and platform performance issues across cloud environments
- Leverage AI-assisted tooling and automation capabilities to improve operational efficiency
Desired Skills and Experience
- 7+ years of cloud, infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation
- Experience supporting AWS and/or GCP environments
- Background in CI/CD, observability, reliability engineering, and platform operations
- Experience working in modern data platforms or data-intensive environments
- Strong scripting and automation experience
- Ability to operate independently in fast-paced, high-accountability environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across technical and business teams
