Senior Data Platform Engineer (GCP / AWS)
We are partnered with a longtime financial services client to bring on a talented Sr. Data Platform Engineer to help lead a full-scale modernization of its enterprise data ecosystem.
This is not a maintenance role and will require someone who can be both in the weeds coding daily while also acting as a technical SME. The team today is talented, lean, and intentionally moving away from a heavily Microsoft-centric environment and rebuilding its modern data platform from the ground (lots of greenfield work) up using GCP, BigQuery, AI-assisted engineering capabilities, and enterprise-scale architecture principles.

Hybrid role onsite 3 days a week. Must be local to the Twin Cities.
Responsibilities
- Help architect and build a modern cloud-native data platform
- Design scalable, resilient enterprise data solutions
- Support data governance, replication, recovery, and operational resiliency strategies
- Partner closely with Data & AI leadership on future-state platform direction
- Mentor engineers and elevate technical maturity across the organization
Desired Skills and Experience
- Strong enterprise data engineering and architecture experience
- GCP, AWS, or large-scale cloud platform expertise
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, data movement, and infrastructure concepts
- Strong technical communication and problem-solving ability
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping build from the ground up
