SkyWater is partnering with a growing medical device company that is seeking an experienced market insights manager to join its team. This is a new position with great growth potential and visibility. While healthcare experience is a large plus, they are open to strong market strategy candidates from the CPG industry as well. 

This would be a terrific opportunity for someone looking to exit consulting and enter industry. 

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate market potential and commercial viability for new product and portfolio opportunities through market sizing, growth forecasting, and strategic assessments.
  • Lead the development and execution of customer and market intelligence activities to identify unmet needs, emerging trends, and concept validation insights.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, R&D, and Clinical teams to define opportunity areas and translate market findings into product strategies and customer-focused solutions.
  • Support strategic decision-making by developing evidence-based analyses that inform resource allocation, investment priorities, and long-term portfolio direction.
  • Develop customer segmentation and market positioning approaches that enhance commercialization efforts and align with purchasing behaviors across healthcare environments.
  • Assess competitive activity, industry trends, and market shifts to identify areas for differentiation, market expansion, and product optimization.
  • Measure market performance indicators, including adoption, share trends, and competitive movement, to uncover risks and opportunities for growth.
  • Foster collaboration across commercial, technical, clinical, financial, and strategic functions to ensure alignment on business objectives and market priorities.
  • Present actionable recommendations and strategic insights to leadership, leveraging customer, clinical, economic, and regulatory perspectives to support informed business decisions.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Life Sciences, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic marketing, market intelligence, business analysis, portfolio management, or related functions, with experience in healthcare, medical technology, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
  • Track record of partnering with product, commercial, or innovation teams to provide customer, market, and competitive insights that influence business and product decisions.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to synthesize complex information, identify key trends, and develop practical recommendations for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience evaluating market opportunities, growth drivers, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to present data-driven findings and influence decision-making across multiple levels of an organization.
