Sr. Estimator / Project Manager
SkyWater is partnering with a growing, heavy civil construction company who’s looking to hire a Sr. Estimator / Project Manager for their team! Our client is a small organization based in the St. Cloud area that has been steadily growing over the last 5 years (15% growth). They specialize in heavy civil construction projects across the state and are looking to bring on a senior-level individual who can help them scale to the next level. This is a highly visible role within a tight-knit team, offering the opportunity to directly impact the business, drive revenue, and play a key role in the company’s long-term growth. We’re looking for an experienced Estimator / Project Manager with a strong background in heavy civil construction who can independently bid, win, and manage projects from start to finish. Our client is offering a strong base salary, bonus potential (tied to performance & winning bids), and significant upside in potential future ownership/equity in the business as it continues to grow!
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue bid opportunities in the heavy civil construction space.
- Develop and submit bids, helping secure new projects & drive company revenue growth.
- Manage projects end-to-end, including scheduling, cost tracking, resource planning, & execution.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders (owners, engineers, subcontractors, etc.) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project profitability, manage change orders, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, & within budget.
- Participate in site visits and field evaluations to support estimating & project execution.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in estimating, project management, or related role(s).
- Experience in heavy civil construction (earthwork, demolition, etc.).
- Proven ability to bid, win, and successfully execute projects from start to finish.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal teams & external partners.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple projects and operate in a fast-paced, growing company.
